Those who have been following this saga since KB 3035583 first appeared almost a year ago know that I strongly recommend you turn Automatic Update to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" and uncheck the box marked "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates." That advice stands.
Remember the infamous KB3035583 "Get Windows 10" update that started automatically downloading Windows 10 on users' computers without their permission? Ahead of the first anniversary of Windows 10, Windows 7 users are now reporting that the annoying update is back.
While KB3035583 didn't actually install Microsoft's newest OS version, it did bother users who weren't interested in Windows 10 when they found out heavy files, preparing their machines for a future Windows 10 update. The app was first sent out to users of Windows 7 and 8.1 systems, helping them easily upgrade to the latest operating system. It not only checked your system for compatibility, but also downloaded all the prerequisites to perform quick installation once the user gives it a go ahead. However, apart from downloading the new OS without user permission, in some "accidental" cases it also installed Windows 10 for them, for which Microsoft issued an apology.
Try to restart your computer or try to follow the second method mentioned in the article or uninstall and reinstall KB3035583 update. Given the direct download link for the update at the bottom of the post.
OK Guys I managed to get it sorted since posting my above comment, and I have again registered for the free upgrade. I found a Dropbox link on another site for a batch file which has various options for you to try. You need to run the batch file as administrator by right clicking the batch file and selecting Run as administrator. Option 2 fixed it for me even though option 1 reported that update KB2952664 was missing from my system. The Windows 10 upgrade app icon appeared on my system tray instantly. For those who are having trouble getting the app to appear who wants to try this, here is a link to the page where you can read the article and find the Dropbox download link. Hope it works for you guys, good luck. _full.zip?dl=0
I have tried everything on this page for days with no success. Finally this worked in less than a minute. Instructions to run the tool: 1. Go to _full.zip?dl=0 and download the file. 2. Copy the win10fix_full.bat file to anywhere else like desktop. 3. Right click the file and click run as administrator. 4. Follow the screen instruction untill to come to main menu screen. 5. On main menu screen do step 1 first and check if you go the updates insalled and and then press any key it will take you back to main menu. 6. Now do step 2 which only takes like 1 second and should have the icon in the task bar.
Method III worked a treat. 10 now reserved. would highly recommend this way. Opens CMD press 1 to do check for updates and versions etc Then I selected the second option for the quick version. within a second the windows icon appeared in the tray. Ideal. Thanks very much as I have been struggling to even get to 8.1 over the last few days. victory!!!

I wake up this morning, my windows 7 computer rebooted itself, and I have a new icon in my taskbar that says get windows 10, WTF, just what I need another RAM drain. I have never seen so many updates installed on an OS as this windows 7, every time they add, it just keeps slowing the system down.

Without entering my email it reserved. then how i dont know. Please help me to fix this problem!
All You Have To Do Is Install The Updates, Click On Start Screen and search up check for updates install all of the updates then restart, dont just install KB3035583 there is still others, So install all of them it will take a while. The Windows 10 Button Might not pop straight up, so click the arrow pointing up and the windows 10 button should be there :) THIS IS THE RIGHT WAY!!!

Run taskschd.msc In the left column open the folders: Task scheduler library/Microsoft/Windows/Setup/gwx Right click launchtrayprocess and open properties tick the box for it to run with the highest permissions and click ok. then right click and run all 4 tasks in the folder. 1. Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder.2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch, hopefully without flaws this time.
