Front Gate Parking is going to be substantially more expensive than Preferred Parking and General Parking, but as the name suggests you are almost literally parking right next to the front gate of Universal Studios Hollywood.
With the price difference between yearly gold and silver plans, upgrading to the gold pass for the money saved on parking is a no-brainer if you want to go more than five Annual Gold times in the coming year being one of the season pass members.
The best parking hack in Los Angeles uses the Universal City Plaza/Studio City or North Hollywood metro stations! The cost of parking at these stations for the whole day is only $3, which is a lot cheaper than Universal Studios parking.
If you choose to park in a residential neighborhood less than a mile away, Uber or Lyft will be pretty inexpensive ($5 max). This tip is particularly for California residents. However, Please be aware of the parking sign near the station that will indicate residential parking hours.
Universal Orlando has a giant parking and transportation structure consisting of two enormous multi-story parking lots and a centralized transportation hub that allows you to access CityWalk, Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay.
If you have any car trouble in the parking garages, Universal recommends that you lift your hood and notify the nearest parking attendant. For this or any other issues, you can also pick up one of the security phones located on each level (and note that Universal offers free battery jumps to get you rolling again).
Guests who rent a car from Avis or Budget at Orlando International Airport can get a complimentary upgrade to Prime parking by requesting a voucher from the car rental desk upon arrival at the airport. You may need to show both your voucher and your car rental receipt at the Universal toll plaza to receive your free upgrade.
There is electric vehicle parking available at Universal Orlando Resort. While the charging stations do not require a fee for use, you must pay for Valet parking as they are located within that lot. Please notify the attendants upon arrival that you need electric vehicle parking.
Bike parking is available near the King Kong parking area. Bicycles are required to be parked inside a rack with a lock. Please note that this is daily parking and bikes will be removed after 24 hours.
Annual passholders receive parking discounts, depending on the type of pass: Premier passholders get free Valet or Prime parking. Preferred passholders get free Self Parking or can Valet for 50% off. Power and Seasonal passes do not include any parking discounts.
Unless you arrive after 6:00 pm, or are going to see a daytime movie, then you will have to pay for parking. Because there is only one parking complex for Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and CityWalk, you must pay to enter the garages, regardless of your destination.
If you are being dropped off by a friend or ride-share company, you will be brought to the fifth floor of the north parking garage (in the Jurassic Park section). There is a dedicated lane for this, and no parking fee will be charged to the driver. From there, you will walk over to the main transportation hub, where the security checkpoint is set up.
Find the right lot that makes sense with your schedule, the frequency of your commute and parking space availability at your station. Parking facilities, rates and terms vary from lot to lot and are subject to change. Check back often to get the latest information about Metro Parking facilities.
Note: Accessible parking spots are obtainable on a first-come, first-served basis on level 3 of each Universal Studios Hollywood enclosed parking garage. General parking rates apply, and a handicap parking permit is required.
Plenty of hotels are located within a few miles of the theme park, and many offer free shuttles or free self-parking services! We did some research to find a Universal resort hotel that provides both and found one a short drive away from the park. Coast Anabelle Hotel is excellent-rated and features complimentary parking and shuttles to and from the park.
Aside from car parking at Universal Studios Hollywood, our guides can help you find discounted parking spots at countless locations in the region. Check out some of the best theme parks in Southern California:
These parking spaces are located the furthest from the entrance to the parks and will require up to fifteen minutes of walking (and potentially require multiple elevators or escalators) before you arrive at the park entrance.
Valet parking not only takes the hassle out of parking your vehicle but also brings you closer to the action with a dedicated security area located just seconds from the entrance to CityWalk and subsequently the Universal Studios theme parks.
An alternative to this for those staying in Orlando is to look for a hotel that provides both complimentary overnight parking and is either within walking distance of the Universal Studios Resort or provides a free shuttle to the parks.
Unless you are parking at an on-site hotel at the Universal Studios Resort, it is not recommended that you leave your car inside the parking garage as it may be seen as a security threat and towed away.
Accessible parking spaces are located on level three of the parking garage and require no escalators or elevators to get to the security hub, wheelchair rental, CityWalk and subsequently the Universal Studios parks.
Unless you are dropped off at Universal Studios, either by a shuttle, ride share company or friend, you will need to pay a parking fee to park your car, motorcycle, RV or electric vehicle in most instances, unless you use our tips.
This method of parking for free can score you some extra hours in the theme parks. However, since you need to see a matinee movie, you are not going to get into a theme park until early afternoon. If you have paid for a single day park ticket, that is wasting a lot of hours that you could have spent in the parks.
Helpful Tip: Even if you are only visiting for a week, the benefits of an annual pass can make the cost worth it. Consider the cost of theme park tickets, parking fees, and discounts on food and merchandise to see if an annual pass makes sense for you. Keep in mind that only one person needs the annual pass to get the free parking, discounts, etc.
Businesses without gated parking lots are not stupid, either. They are wise to the tricks that tourists play to try to score free parking. You will find that most parking lots have signs warning that you will be towed, as well as security cameras monitoring their parking lot.
The enclosed parking garage features moving sidewalks, escalators, elevators, and on-site wheelchair rental. Vehicles can leave the garage and return the same day by stopping at the toll plaza upon re-entry and presenting their parking ticket.
*Regular Parking fee must be paid in full and then will be reimbursed upon presentation of parking receipt (Valet, RV/Bus and Prime Parking excluded), and purchase of two matinee movie tickets and/or redeem their pre-purchased matinee movie tickets to Universal Cinemark at CityWalk. Must produce parking receipt and movie tickets at the Universal Cinemark box office. The theatre ticket purchases must be included within one receipt. Reimbursement is valid only on the date of purchase and redemption of parking fee and movie tickets, and cannot be combined with any other offers and discounts. Reimbursement not valid during separate, specifically ticketed events such as Halloween Horror Nights. Additional restrictions may apply and are subject to change without notice.
Vehicle Assistance - If you should experience car problems while visiting, battery jumps are provided as a courtesy to our guests. If further assistance is needed, raise your hood if possible, and report your vehicle's location to any parking attendant for assistance.
Usually, the general parking fee is currently $30 per car, from the time the park opens each day until 5 p.m., and $10 from 5 p.m. to the time the park closes. (Does not apply on Halloween Horror Nights)
You also have the option for Preferred Parking before 5 p.m. for $50 and after 5 p.m. for $20. Front Gate parking is $60. Valet parking is also now available at $25 for the first 2 hours and $50 after two hours.
From Elissa DickPosted April 9, 2010 at 5:35 PMWe are heading to orlando in the summer and doing Disney, universal, seaworld,Bush Gardens & Kennedy can anyone tell me if we can buy a parking permit in advance. We have already purchased our park tickets but my parents are going before us and i hoped they could purchase one for us if such a thing is available (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle []).push({});From Michael SmithPosted April 9, 2010 at 10:34 PMTo my knowledge you can't at the theme parks unless you buy an annual pass; they include parking. Not sure about Kennedy(never been). I think even if you have an annual pass to the theme parks you still have to pay to park the first time, until your pass is processed in the park. If you have the $20 I'd valet at Universal. Their parking process is one of the most ineffiecient and poorly run that I've ever had to deal with. You wait forever in line at the toll booths, and then when you get through that line, you have to wait in traffic that is backed up because they do not know how to handle the flow of cars and pedestrians. Then you have to walk a mile thorough a usually congested area to get to the parks. And you can't use the speedwalks to get anywhere quicker because instead of walking on them all of the fat lazy americans stand on them and block them completely from their intended use. I really hate parking at Universal.. it's why i never used my annual pass much and why I never renewed. From Anthony MurphyPosted April 9, 2010 at 9:30 PMNot at Disney. However, they do allow you to use the same permit for the various parking lots
This is a great idea. Last month I went to Orlando with my kids and it's really hard to park there because there are so many people. But since I was traveling with kids, it was hard to do without a car. So I found a top car rental service in Orlando and rented a car. But even though it was hard, I still found parking spots
